LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. – The Gonzaga University Alumni Association and Spokane Alumni Chapter offer a unique opportunity for Gonzaga alumni and friends to play golf, take part in a “shamble,” and make a difference in a Zag’s life with the first Be Inspired Fore Scholarships Golf Tournament Aug. 20.
The $100 cost includes green fees and cart, lunch with awards ceremony, player gift package, snacks and water, and the chance to win prizes.
Prizes will be awarded for longest drive, shot closest to the pin, and the Hole-in-One Shootout. In the four-person “shamble” format, all foursome players tee off, then move their balls to the spot of the best ball and play their ball into the hole.
“This will be the inaugural tournament and is held to raise money for the alumni scholarship fund with part of proceeds going to the Spokane Chapter to help establish a regional scholarship,” said Bob Finn, Alumni Association director.
“This tournament is for all alumni wishing to support the alumni scholarship fund, especially Spokane-area alumni who want to become more involved with Spokane Chapter events. It is open to all alumni, friends of the University and parents.”
The Portland Chapter already conducts a golf tournament to support its regional scholarship.
Tee-off at Liberty Lake Golf Course is 8 a.m., with onsite registration starting at 7 a.m. Please register online by Aug. 3. Visit the website to register and view sponsorship opportunities.
