SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga University has chosen Follett Higher Education Group to manage its campus bookstore operations, effective June 1. A selection committee made up of administrators, faculty and students chose Follett after a thorough evaluation as the company with the experience, technology and resources to best serve Gonzaga’s community.
Follett is committed to providing first-class service to all of Gonzaga’s constituents by offering a variety of affordable choices – including Follett’s rental program, Rent-A-Text, to save students 50 percent or more on textbooks compared to the cost of buying new. In addition to its robust rental program, Follett also offers smarter digital textbooks with its cloud-based CafeScribe digital platform.
These cost-saving options can be explored both in-store and online through the nation’s largest online textbook portal, efollett.com. Follett’s efollett.com websites boast simplified navigation to help customers get where they want quickly with fewer clicks as well as a streamlined ordering process. By leveraging online ordering with in-store service, Follett is expected to provide exceptional convenience to the University’s students and faculty.
The Gonzaga community can also rely on a dedicated bookstore team to help navigate these new options. To ensure a seamless transition, all current Zag Shop associates are invited to remain with the bookstore, and will receive additional training and development opportunities designed to enhance each associate’s retail and customer-service skills.
“We have partnered with Follett to provide an exceptional local, full-service campus store that embraces the Gonzaga culture,” said Earl Martin, Gonzaga’s executive vice president. “Follett, which manages more than 900 college and university bookstores across the U.S. and Canada, has demonstrated a strong ability to drive new programs that positively impact the classrooms and the communities they serve.”
Follett President Thomas Christopher said the company is excited to serve Gonzaga.
“We’ll bring our best to the community – using all of our resources, best-in-class technology and our newest product offerings to provide a retail operation that will only enhance the Gonzaga campus,” Christopher said.
