SPOKANE, Wash. – The 110 singers in Gonzaga University Choirs, conducted by Timothy Westerhaus, will present their annual Candlelight Christmas Concert, titled “True Peace,” twice this holiday season: at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7 and at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8. The concerts celebrating joy and peace will take place in St. Aloysius Church on campus.
“True Peace” features four Gonzaga University Choirs and the Spokane Brass Quintet in musical performances that will capture the joy of Christmas as well as the essence of peace. The title, “True Peace,” reflects the spirit of joy and tranquility and features music from around the world – from Irish to French, Spanish to Estonian, and Latvian to Chinese. The concerts also feature cherished Christmas carols in which the audiences will be warmly invited to sing with the Spokane Brass Quintet.
Advance tickets are offered at a reduced rate of $5 for students, $10 for seniors, and $12 for the public. Tickets purchased at the door are $10 for students, and $15 for adults and seniors. Children under age 12 may attend for free.
