PITTSBURGH – Gonzaga University freshman guard Gary Bell, Jr., says it feels somewhat surreal to be preparing to play in the NCAA Tournament and he can’t wait to get on the court today (Thursday, March 15) as the No. 7 seed Bulldogs take on the No. 10 seed Mountaineers from West Virginia in a second-round game in the East Region. The game tips off at 4:20 p.m. PDT; (7:20 p.m. EDT) in the CONSOL Energy Center.
Bell, from Kentridge High School south of Seattle, made the comments Wednesday when the Bulldogs held a light practice and fielded media questions.
The Bulldogs, who compete in the West Coast Conference, are 25-6 while the Mountaineers of the Big East Conference are 19-13. This marks Gonzaga’s 14th-consecutive trip to the Big Dance, the fourth-longest current NCAA Tournament streak in college basketball, trailing only Kansas, Duke and Michigan State.
