SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga University will hire a full-time veterans’ coordinator to help the University’s growing number of veteran students achieve their educational and personal goals, and to create a veterans student community and culture within the University. The position is supported by a grant from Americorps.

“We are very excited about the possibilities this position will bring to both the veterans and family members of veterans who will pursue their undergraduate or graduate degrees at GU,” said Judi Biggs Garbuio, vice president for student development.

The position is scheduled to begin Aug. 15 under the direction of the special populations director in the Transfer, Veteran, & Returning Adult Services Office, which is part of the Division of Student Development. Other tasks for the job include organizing service projects within the University and community.
