Finance Concentration Ranks No. 18 Best in Nation

SPOKANE, Wash. – U.S. News & World Report ranks Gonzaga University’s Master of Business Administration program the 78th (tie) best part-time MBA program in the nation – an increase from its No. 81 ranking last year. This marks the third consecutive year that the Gonzaga MBA program has risen in this ranking.

This marks the seventh consecutive year Gonzaga’s part-time MBA program has earned a top-100 ranking from the publication. The rankings, released today, are in U.S. News’ 2017 edition of the book “Best Graduate Schools.” View the list online.

In addition, the publication ranks Gonzaga’s finance concentration in the MBA program No. 18 best in the nation for specialty finance programs.

U.S. News & World Report’s methodology to determine its part-time MBA rankings uses five factors:

  • Average peer assessment score (50 percent of the overall score)
  • Average GMAT score and GRE score of part-time MBA students entering in fall 2015 (15 percent)
  • Students’ average undergraduate GPA (5 percent)
  • Students’ work experience (15 percent)
  • Percentage of each business school’s fall 2015 MBA enrollment that is part time (15 percent).

To be eligible for the part-time ranking, a program must be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and have at least 20 students enrolled part time in the fall of 2015; 296 programs met those criteria.

“We are once again excited to rank among the 100 best part-time MBA programs in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our faculty, staff, and students, and our goal of creating a rigorous and relevant MBA experience designed for talented working professionals throughout the Inland Northwest,” said Christopher Stevens, Ph.D., director of MBA Programs. “We look forward to continuing to build on the nearly 60 years of excellence in the Gonzaga MBA program.”

Gonzaga’s MBA programs currently enroll approximately 120 students. Of those students, more than 75 percent are working professionals in the Inland Northwest. The Gonzaga MBA combines small class sizes, internationally recognized educators, and a relevant curriculum to tailor the student experience for individual goals and flexibility.
