Gonzaga to Observe International Day of Peace with Series of Events

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga University will observe the International Day of Peace on Sept. 21 with a daylong series of events to foster discussions about human rights, peace, and steps to advance peace. A public reception on campus the night before, titled “Celebrating Spokane Human Rights Organizations,” will launch the events.

Compiled by Edward Fiske, the former education editor for The New York Times, the publication has served as a top independent guide to the best schools for more than 30 years.

Gonzaga University is mourning the loss of Father Frank B. Costello, S.J., one of Gonzaga’s most beloved Jesuits, who passed away early Monday at the Sacred Heart Jesuit Center in Los Gatos, California. He was 94.

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Association of Catholic Publishers has named “To Be One in Christ: Intercultural Formation and Ministry,” Liturgical Press, edited by Fernando Ortiz, Gonzaga University’s director of counseling, and Father Gerard J. McGlone, S.J., director of counseling at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, its 2016 “Book of the Year.”
