SPOKANE, Wash. – The Jundt Art Museum at Gonzaga University presents a traveling exhibition of works created by Roman Catholic artist Karen Laub-Novak (1937-2009). The display, “Karen Laub-Novak: A Catholic Expressionist in the Age of Vatican II,” will be featured in the museum’s Jundt Galleries from Sept. 9-Jan. 6 (2018).

SPOKANE, Wash. – “Louise Kodis: Hanging by a Thread for Forty Years,” an exhibition that is part of the “Close In” series highlighting local and regional artists, opens June 2 at Gonzaga University’s Jundt Art Museum and runs through Aug. 19.

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Jundt Art Museum at Gonzaga University has recently placed on display a wall-sized mural, featuring a colorful jungle scene, by American artist Hilaire Hiler. The mural is on loan from The Northwest Gallery, Thomas Gianetto, Daniel Nicodemo, and Donald Merrill in memory of Kody Merrill and Robert Joseph Merlo II. The mural will remain on display on a wall opposite the museum’s Chancellor’s Room through the end of 2016.

SPOKANE, Wash. – Paul Manoguerra, director and curator of Gonzaga University’s Jundt Art Museum, will discuss the museum now marking its 20th anniversary in a free lecture at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23 in the McCarthey Athletic Center Herak Room. Presented by the Greater Gonzaga Guild, the event is open to the public.

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga University’s “Jesuits and the Arts” series continues with two special exhibitions at the Jundt Art Museum. Opening Sept. 26 in the Jundt and Arcade galleries, respectively are “Vivid in My Mind: The Visionary and Landscape Images of Father Andrew William Vachon, S.J.,” and “Befriending Sacredness: Works by Father Arturo Araujo, S.J.” The exhibitions will continue until Dec. 19.

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Washington State Arts Commission has awarded the Jundt Art Museum at Gonzaga University a 2016 project support grant for $4,000 to support its 2016 spring semester exhibition, “Fifty Masterworks from the Print Collection of the Jundt Art Museum.”

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Jundt Art Museum at Gonzaga University continues its summer “Close In” series featuring the work of regional artists Marilyn Lysohir, from Moscow, Idaho, and Shani Marchant, Spokane. The exhibition, “Close In: Marilyn Lysohir and Shani Marchant: Between Two Worlds,” organized by Curator of Education Karen Kaiser, opens May 30 and continues through Sept. 12.
