Alumna Kate Hewitt Earns Prestigious Scoville Peace Fellowship at Brookings Institution

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Kate Hewitt, a 2013 Gonzaga University alumna, has been awarded a prestigious and highly competitive Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship for the fall 2017 semester and will spend six to nine months working with the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C.

Gonzaga’s No. 1 ranking for four consecutive years as the nation’s top-ranked Peace Corps volunteer-producing institution among “Small Colleges and Universities” reflects its institutional commitment to improving our world and underscores the service ethos of its faculty and staff. SPOKANE, Washington – For the fourth consecutive year, Gonzaga University is the nation’s top-ranked (tie) Peace Corps volunteer-producing institution among “Small Colleges and Universities” with 18 undergraduate alumni serving in 15 countries worldwide, lifting Gonzaga’s historical total to 338 alumni with Peace Corps service. Gonzaga shares the top spot this year (for the first time) with the University of Puget Sound.
