The yearlong celebration of Gonzaga University’s 125th Anniversary, themed “Tradition and Transformation,” will reach a crescendo on National Gonzaga Day, Jan. 24 (2013), when Zags worldwide unite to celebrate and support the University’s rich and living mission to educate people for others.
SPOKANE, Wash. – Some of Gonzaga’s best and brightest students had the rare opportunity to engage in dialogue with three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author Thomas L. Friedman on Sept. 4, prior to his Gonzaga Presidential Lecture Series address that evening at the McCarthey Athletic Center. The event was part of Gonzaga’s yearlong 125th Anniversary celebration. Friedman graciously fielded questions from a panel of selected students for more than an hour.

Gonzaga University’s Bulldogs are pleased today to have earned a No. 7 seed in the NCAA Basketball Tournament, the Zags’ 14th-straight trip to the Big Dance, as the Zags will battle No. 10 seed University of West Virginia in a second-round game Thursday in the East Region at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. Twenty Gonzaga University entrepreneurship students are easing back into their campus routines this week with fresh, new perspectives informed by the once-in-a-lifetime experience of a day spent with billionaire financial wizard Warren Buffett – an American icon.
Alumni, faculty, and students describe the “Gonzaga Experience” as a way of life. Gonzaga’s tight-knit community and the students’ strong sense of belonging make it difficult for some students to leave. Alumnus Mike Kelsey (’10) has chosen to stay and now will take on new work with the Alumni Association.
